From Slovenia to Venezuela and Back
Hi! We’re Rosa and Alexandra, two Slovenian-Venezuelan sisters born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised by our grandmother, Nežka Žibert, who was born in Britof pri Kranju.
We grew up in a home filled with polenta and arepas, singing both La Vaca Mariposa and Marko Skače.

After spending years apart, we ended up together in Slovenia, the land of our grandmother.
CocoBee started when we decided to create something that mixes both of our worlds:
Slovenia, where nature is clean and peaceful and Venezuela, where we learned to be creative, resilient, and resourceful.
But our candle journey started with pure ignorance. We used to buy the cheapest candles, unaware of the harm they were causing. We loved having them around, but we were unaware of their harmful effects.
That's why we decided to start making natural candles. Good for your health, good for your ambiance and good for the environment.
What Makes CocoBee Different?
Our Philosophy
We believe sustainability starts with honesty. Many candle materials are marketed as “green” without acknowledging the full environmental cost behind them. Our approach is different: we choose ingredients that genuinely support ecological balance.
Beeswax
A natural byproduct of healthy beekeeping, beeswax supports pollination — one of the most essential ecological services on the planet. It needs only gentle filtration, and its clean-burning properties set the benchmark for purity.
Coconut Wax
Derived from perennial coconut palms, this wax requires minimal agricultural inputs and grows naturally in multi-layered tropical ecosystems. It burns cleanly, contains no synthetic stabilizers, and requires far less processing than commodity crops like soy.
Why Not Soy?
Despite its eco-friendly reputation, soy is part of one of the world’s largest monoculture systems, linked to deforestation, soil degradation, and high chemical use. Soy wax itself undergoes extensive industrial treatment before it resembles anything like a candle wax.
