Our Story

Hi! We’re Rosa and Alexandra, two Slovenian-Venezuelan sisters born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised by our grandmother, Nežka Žibert, who was born in Britof pri Kranju.

We grew up in a home filled with polenta and arepas, singing both La Vaca Mariposa and Marko Skače.

After spending years apart, we ended up together in Slovenia again.

CocoBee started when we decided to create something of our own, using ingredients that are local to each country. Something that mixes both worlds:

Slovenia, where nature is clean and peaceful and Venezuela, where we learned to be creative, resilient, and resourceful.

But our candle journey started with pure ignorance. We used to buy the cheapest candles, unaware of the harm they were causing. We loved having them around, but we didn’t question their ingredients.
