Why baths are harder than they look - 🛁
Share

I’ve been trying to keep all the warmth I brought back from Venezuela inside of me.
The desire to feel cozy and warm has only grown stronger. Lately, the idea of taking a bath has been constantly crossing my mind.
Taking a bath is one of those things that seems easy… but isn’t. 🛁
The physical and mental preparation you go through before getting into a bath is real. And the benefits, when done with intention, can be many!
1. Hydration
If you haven’t had much water during the day and decide to take a hot bath, you’ll wrinkle up like a raisin — and you might even end up with a headache from dehydration. So for best results, it’s very important to drink plenty of water before, during, and after your bath.
🔥 (Thank you, hot yoga, for teaching me this.)🔥
2. Prepare the space
Have your water nearby, light your candles (live it — if we’re doing it, we’re doing it properly, Beeswax candles will make you feel the main character of a movie). 🧖
Prepare your moisturizing candle or any deeply hydrating product you have, because the heat and soaking will leave you feeling dry afterward. Plus, your pores are open and ready to absorb all the hydration you can give them.
3. About bath bombs
They only worked for me once. 🛁☁️
Most of the time, they just leave residue in the tub and make it look dirty. I prefer sticking to foaming soaps, natural oils, and things that keep the water clean, smelling good, and a little bubbly.
4. Prepare to slow down afterward
Maybe for a nap, or straight to bed at night if that’s what your body asks for.
Your body will feel gently sedated, like floating on a little cloud. Go with it, and enjoy the calm. ☁️ 🧦
Not every bath is perfect or Instagram-worthy.
Sometimes it’s just warm water doing what it does best: relaxing the body, opening the pores, quieting the mind, improving circulation and calming the nervous system.
So go ahead — romanticize your life and your bath. 🌿🐝
